eWAFF Invitational Achieves International Success
The invitational, which was the first of its kind in the region and organized by WAFF in cooperation with Zain eSports – Jordan, officially entered the FIFA classification where its results were approved and taken into consideration for the draw of for the matches of the West Asia and Africa region, organized by FIFA from 20 to 22 August in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The tournament was held under FIFA’s umbrella of a during the FIFA days of eFriendlies, with the participation of four member associations from the region, which are included on the approved FIFA list for electronic games, and witnessed KSA winning its title, while the UAE came second, Kuwait in third, and Qatar fourth.
Khalil Al Salem, General Secretary of WAFF, said that the international accreditations that the invitational has received is evidence of its value and confirmation of the success of its organization, which came in accordance with the highest international standards and in accordance with laws and regulations, which strengthened its position and at the same time constituted a motive for its continuity.
Al Salem emphasized that this motivates WAFF to work continuously to expand the base of member associations practicing electronic football, especially since the tournament has become an important qualifying stage for the FIFAe Nations Cup, along with its role in providing competitive preparatory opportunities for the teams of its member associations.
Al Salem concluded: The fast growth of electronic football in the world motivates us at WAFF to increase interest in this type of activity, as it attracts many followers, in addition to the marketing value it has gained.
